Harassment and Discrimination

CPSO mandates professional boundaries through its policies:

Canadian Medical Association: The Duty is Ours

It is entirely the responsibility of the physician to establish and maintain the limits of behaviour for themselves and for their patients. Physicians should never be romantically or sexually involved with their current patients. There is an ethical responsibility to report patient/provider sexual abuse.

For more on boundaries consult The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario website, and a special article from the fall of 2004 that focuses on maintaining boundaries and includes a 27 question self-assessment tool.
