Introduction

The Faculty Office of Equity, Diversity and Gender issues is pleased to provide this module as learning and teaching tool on the subject of harassment and intimidation in medical education.

This module is an introduction to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to deal with issues of harassment and discrimination.

Objectives

After completing this module you will be able to:

• define and identify harassment and intimidation

• define and identify sexual harassment

• describe the legal decisions that shape present policy

• outline the effects on individuals of harassment and discrimination

• define personal and professional boundaries

• demonstrate an appropriate response to an allegation of harassment or discrimination
