  1.  Rogue cancer cells are able to create and follow their own signals

  2.  Signals that regulate cell growth and division do not have an effect on cancer cells and they can grow without control.

  3. Cells are also regulated by signals to program cell death (apoptosis), cancer cells do not respond to this

  4. Normal cells have a limit to ther capacity for division, telomerase allows cancer cells to continue to divide long after other normal cells
